RAUNCHY Part Ways With Singer, Announce Replacement
February 5, 2004Promising Danish metallers RAUNCHY have parted ways with vocalist Lars Vognstrup.
"We don't want to spend time commenting Lars V's departure," the group write on their web site. "We can reveal that Lars V. is still a VERY good friend of the band and loves the music, BUT due to musical differences it would be strange to continue with Lars V. as he couldn't give it a 100%.
"The GOOD news is that we have already found a new, powerful and talented singer named Kasper Thomsen. We have been spending some time rehearsing with our new singer and we can't wait to go on tour as he's going to rip your heart out -) WELCOME TO THE RAUNCHY CAMP KASPER!"
Commented Lars: "Hey guys and ladies of course. With very much sadness I have to inform you that, after ten years, I've decided to sign out of my beloved band RAUNCHY and pass on the legacy to Kasper Thomsen.
"RAUNCHY is and will continue to be insanely tight, banging, clever stuff and way above what ever you decide to compare it to. It's been fun reading about some of the bands we've been compared to through the years.
"Some of them I've never heard and some of them is true. But if you know anything about good music, genre aside, you'll know immediately by listening to it that our songs come straight from the heart and that's what's keeping it real and what'll make the difference, you know, take it to the top!
"To all of you with love for the music: Hopefully I've left you with a dope scream to step to! Enjoy 'Confusion Bay'. I'm proud of that one! To the haters: KEEP IT HOMO. — Thanks a lot"

RAUNCHY's sophomore album, "Confusion Bay", is scheduled for a European release on Monday (February 9) through Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2002's highly acclaimed "Velvet Noise" was recorded and mixed at producer Jacob Hansen's (INVOCATOR) Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark and features 11 songs.
RAUNCHY recently filmed a video for the track "Watch Out" with Danish director Anders Morgenthaler (KASHMIR, JUNIOR SENIOR, THE BREAKERS, SUPERHEROES). The group, who just signed a brand-new deal with Nuclear Blast Records, are confirmed for Aarhus Metal Festival 2004, a two-day event set to take place April 30-May 1 at Voxhall in Aarhus, Denmark. Additional European dates will be announced soon.
